During a recent earnings call, Samsung officially announced its upcoming mobile chipset, the Exynos 2500. The company revealed that this new processor will be developed by its System LSI division and is set to play a crucial role in its flagship devices later this year.
Exynos 2500 SoC Overview
The Exynos 2500 will be built using a state-of-the-art 3-nanometer manufacturing process. It will incorporate Samsung’s advanced Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistor technology, which is designed to enhance performance by 23% and cut power consumption by 45%. Although Samsung did not specify which devices will use the Exynos 2500, the focus on securing a stable supply indicates its importance for their high-end products in the second half of 2024.
There is speculation that the Exynos 2500 might be featured in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series in some regions. Historically, Samsung has used its own chipsets in specific markets, while employing Qualcomm processors in others. For example, the Galaxy S24 lineup in India came with the Exynos 2400, whereas the Galaxy S24 Ultra was equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in certain regions.
