The Realme GT 6T faces tough competition not only from other brands but also from within Realme’s own lineup. After putting the GT series on hold following the GT Neo 3, Realme revived it in 2024 with the GT 6 and the GT 6T, marking the brand’s first T-series entry. The GT 6T promises to deliver strong all-around performance at a competitive price. But how well does it perform, especially against rivals like the OnePlus Nord 4? Let’s find out.
Design: Balancing Style and Practicality
The Realme GT 6T, available in Fluid Silver, Miracle Purple, and Razor Green, features a design that balances style with practicality. Measuring 162mm x 75.1mm x 8.65mm and weighing 191g, it has a sleek look, with a dual-tone finish on the rear panel. The Fluid Silver variant, which I reviewed, offers a misty metallic finish that shines when light hits it. The flat frame adds to the phone’s grip, although the rear panel, made of soft plastic, feels a bit less premium. Despite this, the phone boasts an IP65 rating, providing decent protection against dust and water.
Display: Smooth and Stunning Visuals
The Realme GT 6T sports a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,264 x 2,780 pixels, offering a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The 3D curved edges not only enhance the phone’s aesthetics but also provide practical benefits like the Smart Side-bar for multitasking. The display is HDR10 and Dolby Vision certified, ensuring vibrant and accurate colors. It’s also easily visible in bright sunlight, making it a great choice for outdoor use.
Software: A Mixed Bag
Running on Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14, the GT 6T offers a familiar user experience for those accustomed to Realme, Oppo, or OnePlus devices. However, the software comes with its downsides, including a significant amount of bloatware and redundant apps. While features like AI Smart Loop and AI Smart Removal add some value, they don’t always perform as expected, leaving room for improvement.
Performance: No Compromises
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor, the Realme GT 6T delivers solid performance. With up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, the phone handles everyday tasks and gaming with ease. The large vapor cooling chamber ensures the device remains cool during intensive tasks. In benchmarks, it even outperforms the OnePlus Nord 4, although the Poco F6 offers better performance with its Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.
