OnePlus has rolled out new artificial intelligence (AI) features for its OnePlus Nord 4 and OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G smartphones. Announced on August 10, these AI enhancements are integrated via an AI Toolkit, adding more smart functionality to these popular devices. This update brings three key AI features designed to enhance user experience, making everyday tasks more convenient and efficient.
OnePlus Nord 4 and Nord CE 4 Lite 5G: New AI Features
Initially expected to launch with the OnePlus Nord 4 in July, these AI features were delayed but are now available. The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G in India also benefits from these enhancements. While the AI features for the Nord CE 4 Lite are exclusive to Indian users, Nord 4 users across Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, Russia, and Latin America can now access these tools.
Key AI Features in the OnePlus Nord 4 Series
- AI Speak: This text-to-speech (TTS) feature allows users to have any page with a substantial amount of text read aloud. It functions seamlessly in browsers and certain apps with high text content, although it may not be compatible with some social media apps. Users can choose between male and female voices, adjust playback speed, and even replay or skip sections of the text. The spoken text is also displayed in a separate interface, providing a comprehensive reading experience.
- AI Summary: Similar to summarization tools offered by Google and Samsung, the AI Summary feature generates concise summaries of lengthy documents or webpages. Users can easily copy, share, or save these summaries to the Notes app or stash them in the File Dock, making it a handy tool for managing information.
- AI Writer: This AI-powered text generator is designed to assist users in composing essays, emails, text messages, reviews, and stories. The feature activates in any text field, offering options to control the tone of the generated content. Additionally, users can generate text based on on-screen images, adding another layer of creativity to the writing process.
How to Enable and Use the AI Toolkit
To start using these features, users need to enable screen recognition. This can be done by navigating to Settings > Accessibility & Convenience. Alternatively, the system will prompt users to enable this feature the first time they attempt to use the AI Toolkit, ensuring a seamless setup process.
